The link for this digitally enhanced artistic photograph/collage leads to an image that is a combination of a digital photograph and digital drawing that was created using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. A photo of my eye was taken with a digital camera, after several operations in Photoshop I created areas, as seen in the image, that were modified each one separately. The black hairs (streaks) were drawn in Illustrator and transferred into Photoshop file. The photograph that will be displayed at this link, in a way, symbolizes how wasteful the western society and her people. The toy, which is no longer desired, is simply discarded at the shores of Lake Michigan in St. Joseph, MI. this digital photograph was taken in color and converted to black and white in post processing using Adobe Photoshop. The photograph is of a series of steel cables held tightly together by a fastener and bolts and screws that have accumulated a thick layer of rust and other deposits. The image was created at Lake Michigan and later enhanced in post processing. The long exposure, handheld photo was taken at an art gallery on Chicago*s south side near University of Illinois at Chicago. It was an installation exhibition by Jonathan Miller (Chicago radio guru on the subject of motion pictures and spaces of non-Hollywood movies and productions) with lots of television sets (TVs) and VCRs playing videos as illustrations selected by the artist. The digital camera was not mounted on a tripod and had extremely dirty sensor and the image was later enhanced in post processing. The achieved blurry effect only adds to the theme of the exhibit. Link to a digital image of downtown Chicago overlooking the north side of the Chicago River with the early stages of construction of the Trump Tower in the lower right side of the photo. Various other buildings are visible in the foreground and background. Construction of the Trump Tower sparked a number of smaller business developments in this area of downtown Chicago (Chicago River and State St. and Lake), which sometimes forced small family business out. The link loads a digital image of African-American mimes during performance at the St. Mary*s College in South Bend, IN. It was a group of mimes organized by a church in Indiana. They have traveled all over Mid West. The mimes performance was professional and emotional. They used mostly church music and their acts were centered on the positive message of Jesus Christ and his true followers. While there is no end in sight to the anorexic or at least stick thin cover models, the strong, beautiful, muscular body reminds the viewer that the beauty of a womanly form is by far not size 0. The editors of various glamour magazines continuously try to uphold the standards of often destructive and fake pop culture that thinner is better and beautiful but as most humans (men and women) know the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The editors can take it and shove it. This digital artistic photo was taken with a digital camera and converted to b&w in post processing. The depiction of a field toilet with a slightly open door is my interpretation/rumination on the popular subject of the many artists and photographers – the open door. It must be intriguing for a human (man or woman) to look and wonder what lies beyond it? In this case, it is the happy thoughts after the deed of going to the toilet; in a different circumstances the door may lead to something entirely different like an amazing art collection. The link leads to a photograph of a bouquet of flowers in the foreground and a young beautiful lady out of focus in the background. It is the eternal battle of youth and fading. The color photograph was processed very slightly in post processing and cropped using Photoshop. The thumb opens a digital infrared processed image taken in Big Band National Park in West Texas. The gray rough rocks that dominate the composition contrast with the smooth skin of the woman and her black curly hair. A simple and beautiful image of the Chicago architecture and geometric design will open for this thumb. This color raw photo was created on the north side of Chicago close to intersection of Belmont and N. Lake Shore Dr. Big Band National Park in Texas is a main natural attraction in the state. This photo (first in raw format) was post processed to make it look like an infrared image on film. The image was post processed and converted from raw to black & white. The egg has a very smooth surface that contrasts with the tree bark. The thumb opens a photograph with social commentary on today’s relationship of the political mass media and one of their talking heads and the consumers (citizenry, people) of the mass media production. Headlines of various newspapers and a Columbia College at Chicago magazine appear - “Fox pundit belt”, “Will work for less”, “Guerrilla Cheerleaders”, and an image of Michael Moore with a video camera on his shoulder. Bill O’Reilly is the main point of the collage, with a small toy cowboy (possibly George Bush Dubya) figure in the center. Digital art and social commentaries that it can produce are limitless.
