Documentary Photo Collage: Americana

It is hard for me to define this group of photographs at this point. They are an experiment. Whether you are an American, Nigerian, Brazilian, Chinese, or like me, Ukrainian, we project ourselves onto the outside world with our possessions, actions and beliefs. With these photos and captions I would like to illustrate some of the aspects of life in the United States. I hope they are interesting for both sides - people looking in from without USA but also for people within.

These pictures are not a critique of any sort (consumerism is a global phenomena that stretches through out time and is hardly unique to the States). Rather, the images are snapshots of situations unique to the Unites States of America. Or so I hope.

NOTE: This is a new project that will be updated on regular basis.
All photographs in this gallery were taken on Kodachrome 64 film and Fuji Provia 100. The slides were mounted, scanned with virtually no adjustments in post processing. None of the photographs were cropped.
